HPI INFORMATION AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Requirements: Generally cities and others suggest businesses and residential users regulate water pressure prior to use at 50psi to 60psi (pounds per square inch).

Additionally in areas where water mineral content is such that it effects the regulators internal parts thus leading to poor pressure control and ultimately to complete failure allowing the full street water supply pressure to pass into the home or business. Regulators must be tested at regular intervals to obtain an indication of a poor pressure control prior to failure.

A&B Engineering developed the HPI, High Pressure Indicator, to supplant programs of periodic testing as these approaches were found to be troublesome and difficult to administer.

The HPI will initially signal with a red indicator pressures at 70psi to 75psi and continue to signal as the pressure increases.

Users should consider replacing the water pressure regulator when the HPI first begins to signal with red indicator.

Installation: Using a water pressure gauge check pressure, adjust if necessary to55psi. Turn off water to facility. Install a tee or locate an unused plugged port in a user regulated cold water supply line. Install the HPI transducer into the plugged fitting or the third port of tee. You may need to bush the port size up or down to except the male 1/4 -20NPT on the transducer. Turn water supply on, check for leaks.

Within the general area of the HPI transducer, locate and select an easily seen wall for mounting the indicator enclosure. Mount the enclosure using 2 #8 screws. Route the wire from the enclosure over to the transducer and push its female spade connectors onto those provided on the transducer, slide the terminal covers down connectors. Lastly plug the transformer into a close by 110VAC power receptacle and route its line over to the enclosure and insert plug into receptacle on lower side surface.

Operating Specifications: Triggers at 65-75 psi. Working ambient temperature range -20°F to 150°F.

Warranty: The HPI unit is covered by a lifetime replacement warranty that is limited to the original purchaser and location; installed in a professional manner complying with local codes. A&B Engineering assumes no liability expressed or implied for consequential damages. For warranty service contact; customerservice@anbengineering.com. Explain issues relating to the HPI unit. Provide your email, date of purchase and purchasers name and return address. Our customer service staff will advise you upon receipt of your correspondence.

Disclaimer: Use of the HPI will not inhibit damage to any appliance or device using regulated water. It is intended to and its sole purpose is to warn a user that the regulated pressure is above that suggested for residential use.
