Water pressure is controlled by a regulator in your home or business that regulates the city’s street water pressure to that pressure required for safe operation in homes and businesses.

Regulator failure is slow, simply allowing the pressure to climb until the property is at street pressure, usually way beyond the 55-60 PSI initial set point.

Failure usually occurs as the minerals and contaminates in the water slowly erode the internal parts of the regulator.

The erosion begins to take place from the very first use!  After about  year, or so of normal use, the regulator should be replaced.

A&B Engineering has recently announced availability of a high pressure indicator, patented for home and business use, to supplement and improve periodic testing programs.

Use of the HPI will provide an early  warning of rising pressure. When pressure is at 70-75 PSI, the HPI will indicate that the regulator should be replaced before any damage occurs.
